Installation & Setup

LAN Lens is developed as a native, lightweight application built to optimize network discovery speeds on consumer mobile and desktop operating systems. The current release is in **Private Beta** and is distributed through official sandboxed sandbox testing environments.

Platform Requirements

1. Installing on iOS (TestFlight)

Our iOS build is distributed via Apple's secure TestFlight sandbox. This ensures that you receive official builds signed directly by our development certificate.

  1. Install the free TestFlight app from the Apple iOS App Store.
  2. Request access to the Private Beta through our home page waitlist.
  3. Upon receiving your invitation email, open the link on your iPhone or iPad.
  4. Tap Accept inside TestFlight, followed by Install.

iOS App Sandbox Note

iOS limits native network socket access strictly. Once installed, make sure to read the Permissions Guide to ensure LAN Lens can scan your local subnet.

2. Installing on macOS

Our macOS application features a highly optimized multi-threaded scanning architecture that runs directly on your desktop machine.

  1. Log in to the LAN Lens Developer Dashboard and download the latest .dmg file for your CPU architecture (Apple Silicon vs. Intel).
  2. Double-click the downloaded LANLens-macOS.dmg file.
  3. Drag the **LAN Lens** icon into your desktop Applications folder.
  4. Launch the app from your Applications folder or Spotlight search.

3. Installing on Android

The Android package runs native Java/Kotlin socket connections directly on client Wi-Fi controllers, allowing custom subnet sweep configurations.
